Position Summary
The Summer Enrichment Facilitator is passionate about sparking curiosity and creativity in students through hands-on, STEM-based learning. This role calls for someone who is professional, creative, flexible, and fun — someone who can engage a diverse group of campers and communicate effectively with both students and adults. The Summer Enrichment Facilitator is responsible for delivering the GalileoX curriculum with energy and fidelity, leading age-specific, grade-banded camp sessions for groups of up to 20 campers. Working closely with the Director of Program Enrichment, the Summer Enrichment Facilitator receives ongoing coaching and feedback to continuously strengthen their facilitation practice. The Summer Enrichment Facilitator is a team player who is excited to help every camper experience the joy of discovery and learning over the summer.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, internalize, and deliver daily enrichment lessons for groups of up to 20 campers, implementing the GalileoX curriculum with energy, creativity, and fidelity.
- Camp Environment: Create a safe, respectful, and youth development-based learning environment where all campers feel welcomed, valued, and excited to participate.
- Culturally Relevant Facilitation: Implement and modify lesson plans to ensure activities are culturally relevant and accessible for a diverse population of campers.
- Creative Project Development: Develop and facilitate creative, hands-on projects that deepen camper engagement and bring the enrichment curriculum to life.
- Behavior Management and Conflict Resolution: Manage camper behavior and resolve conflicts promptly and effectively, using strategies that promote independence, self-control, and a positive camp culture.
- Classroom Organization: Organize the activity space to facilitate camper independence, smooth transitions, and effective use of communal supplies and materials.
- Progress Tracking and Communication: Work closely with the Director of Program Enrichment, Site Director, and Operations Coordinator to track camper progress and communicate regularly about individual and group needs.
- Team Collaboration: Serve as an active and supportive team member alongside the Director of Expanded Learning, Site Director, and fellow Enrichment Facilitators.
- Professional Development: Participate in all scheduled staff development sessions, training, and team meetings, and prepare effectively for activity observations and coaching conversations.
- Other tasks as assigned or necessary for program success.
