Position Summary
The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall culture and climate of summer camp. Site Directors create the conditions for operations coordinators, content facilitators, interns, and campers to flourish. Their duties include serving as site leadership, planning and facilitating whole group spaces, coaching and supporting staff as needed, collaborating with the site operations coordinator and academic coaches, learning and preparing staff for emergency protocols, and overseeing overall experience. Other responsibilities as needed to ensure a fun, safe experience for all students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Staff Management: Schedule, oversee, track, and submit staff hours to ensure the program stays within ELO ratio. Manage staff attendance and collaborate with the Operations Coordinator and program coaches to ensure class and activity coverage.
- Staff Meetings and Sync Ups: Host daily leadership team sync ups to review program alignment, identify hotspots, and action plan. Host weekly faculty meetings to address any concerns and look ahead.
- Inclusive Program Development: Implement inclusive programs and activities that cater to a diverse group of campers. Develop strategies to ensure all campers feel welcomed, valued, and included in the summer camp community.
- Staff Engagement: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among staff through team-building activities and communication initiatives. Provide support and resources to staff members to enhance their ability to create a positive culture in their classroom or space.
- Training and Development: Collaborate with program coaches and the Operations Coordinator to identify training topics and logistics for facilitators, interns, support staff, and operations team members.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute special events, celebrations, and themed days to enhance the overall camp experience.
- Conflict Resolution: Address any student conflicts or challenges related to camp culture promptly and effectively. Provide guidance and support to staff and campers in resolving interpersonal issues and promoting a positive atmosphere.
- Feedback and Improvement: Collect feedback from staff, campers, and parents to continuously evaluate and improve the summer program. Implement changes and enhancements based on feedback and observations.
- Communication: Establish clear and open communication channels with staff, campers, and parents to ensure everyone is informed and involved in camp initiatives.
- Data Tracking and Reporting: Maintain records of program participation, feedback, and outcomes. Prepare regular reports for leadership on successes and areas for improvement.
