Position Summary
The ELO Tutor is primarily responsible for providing high-quality enrichment programming that supports the Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) and its core priority: “Every child engaged in high-quality enrichment that sparks joy, builds skills, and expands opportunity.”
The ELO-P Tutor design and lead engaging clubs and enrichment activities that nurture students’ creativity, skills, and interests while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. The ELO-P Tutor works closely with the ELO-P Site Managers, school staff, and families to ensure consistent, equitable experiences across all sites.
Responsibilities
- Support enrichment clubs that align with ELOP’s vision of joyful, skill-building experiences for all students.
- Create and maintain a safe, supportive environment where students are actively engaged.
- Develop and implement activities that promote student growth, collaboration, and exploration.
- Monitor attendance and ensure accurate records for assigned clubs.
- Collaborate with Site Managers and school staff to support alignment with school-wide goals.
- Communicate with families as needed to support student participation and success.
- Participate in professional development, coaching, and reflection opportunities provided by ELOP.
- Uphold equitable procedures and expectations established by ELOP across all sites.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of student learning and enrichment.
Qualifications
Desired Experience
- One (1) year of demonstrated experience leading youth programs, enrichment activities, or clubs.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and families.
Required Education
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
Knowledge of / Ability to:
- Plan and implement engaging enrichment activities for elementary and middle school students.
- Supervise students responsibly and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Work independently and collaboratively with site leadership and peers.
- Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm in working with youth.
