Job Summary: The Delivery Drivers’ primary responsibility is to follow their drivers’ routing sheet to complete their pick-ups and deliveries in a professional, courteous, timely, and safe manner.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows most efficient route to accomplish all deliveries in as safe and timely manner as possible, complying with all Company and DOT requirements.
- Provides friendly and respectful customer service
- Completes pre and post inspection of vehicle
- Maintain all equipment in good and safe working order. Complete comprehensive daily inspections of their vehicle.
- Safely driving vehicle
- Making sure truck is clean and organized
- Deliver product in a timely manner, with excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate and timely log books and turn into supervisor
- Keep track of hours worked and follows all follows hours of service guidelines
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures, state and federal laws, as well as DOT and any other regulations.
- Communicates with will call office regarding any discrepancies with customers, and complies with the following:
- Taking RMA to customer to pick up merchandise customer wishes to return
- Picking up returned parts and loading appropriately on truck
- Turning in paperwork for RMA’s
- Collecting proper form of payment from customer and paperwork (COD, CASH, CREDIT CARD, NET 30 –sign net 30)
- Calling refusals or with questions about payment
- Calling when parts are not on truck
- Professional with co-workers and customers
- Proper handling of cash
*Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 Years of Related Experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Includes any required computer skills, regulatory knowledge, certifications, licenses, languages, etc.):
- Ability to safely operate your vehicle in a safe manner, compliant with all DOT and Company safety guidelines.
- Possess valid, current driver’s license
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written directions in English.
- Strong knowledge of DOT requirements.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and communicate with Office and Transportation Manager as necessary.
- Handle cash in a secure and accurate manner
- Collect current invoices by method noted on invoice.
- Consistently exercise good judgment in daily situations.
- Pick up returns and receipts for EO vendors and deliver back to home dock according to Company policy.
- Ability to navigate in unknown areas, using a variety of helps, such as maps, GPS, etc.
- Maintain medical certificate.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently, and to frequently get in and out of vehicle.
Must be able and available to work during core business hours
- Hours are subject to change based on business need.
