A valuable part of Earl Owen Company’s team consists of our sales force that provides our customers with the best service and product assistance possible while continuously seeking new customers to service.  We have outside sales managers, phone room sales staff, and counter sales representatives.   The following responsibilities, job duties, and qualifications are for our phone room sales staff.

 

I.          Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for, though not limited to, meeting sales goals, servicing accounts; and maintaining a professional image of Earl Owen Company on a daily basis.   This position will continuously promote and sell Earl Owen Company’s products and services to existing and potential new customers.  

 

II.         Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is taking care of   wholesale customers, placing their orders and providing them with superior product knowledge and expertise
  • Attend daily morning sales meetings
  • Maintain broad and deep knowledge of all current and new products
  • Key orders from phone and check quick order 
  • Have a goal to assist 195 calls per day – inbound or outbound
  • Working with your team to optimize sales goals
  • Constantly learn about new products and be aware of new vehicles
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Working Earl Owen Co. shows and special events

Required Minimum Education

   No Diploma

   High School Diploma or equivalent

   College Course work or equivalent

  2 Year college degree (Associate or equivalent)   4 Year college degree (Bachelor or equivalent)

   Post-graduate degree or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Includes any required computer skills, regulatory knowledge, certifications, licenses, languages, etc.) 

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow up habits;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong and effective customer service skills
  • Ability to relate to customers’ requests and needs
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining the highest service levels, not degrading overall service
  • Ability to work under supervision
  • Ability to make sound decisions
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, able to diffuse potentially high risk situations
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn and use a variety of software packages, including Outlook and email.
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to learn new products and apply that knowledge effectively.
  • Ability to read and write clearly in English.
  • Ability to safely move around the warehouse and showroom
  • Possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Basic math knowledge
  • Maintain a retail professional appearance as directed by Sales Manager (collared shirt, closed toe shoes)
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Must be able and available to work during core business hours:  Monday- Friday, 7:45 am – 5:15 pm.

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities!
