Delivery Driver – IKEA Furniture Delivery (Box Truck)
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will deliver boxed IKEA furniture to customers' homes. No furniture assembly is required. Your primary responsibility is to safely transport and deliver orders while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and deliver boxed IKEA furniture to customers.
- Handle merchandise with care to prevent damage during loading, transport, and delivery.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Verify deliveries and obtain signatures or photos as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
- Use a smartphone and delivery app to complete deliveries and communicate with dispatch.
- Safely operate 20ft/16ft box trucks for furniture delivery routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load and unload boxes (furniture) using manual handling techniques, dollies, or other material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices
- Execute precise route driving to ensure timely deliveries across designated areas, adjusting plans as needed for traffic or weather conditions
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with all transportation laws
- Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or handheld scanners, documenting all load & unload activities and any delivery issues
- Follow warehouse operations procedures when receiving inventory or preparing items for delivery, supporting overall warehouse efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in warehouse operations involving heavy lifting and manual handling
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial trucks or box trucks preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and use material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks safely
- Knowledge of route planning, traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and weight handling in the workplace
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy items repeatedly while maintaining safe lifting practices
- Excellent customer service skills with clear communication abilities during deliveries and interactions with clients
- Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation, documentation, and communication purposes
- Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving a 20ft/16ft box truck.
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture boxes.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Pay: $185.00 - $200.00 per day
