Job Summary
The Sales & Catering Manager plays a critical role in driving catering revenue, expanding market reach, and ensuring top-tier food & beverage experiences for guests. This position focuses on aggressively growing catering sales, securing high-value accounts, and developing strategic partnerships that elevate the hotel's reputation as a preferred event destination.
Key Responsibilities:
Catering Sales & Revenue Growth:
Actively prospect corporate, social, and wedding clients to increase catering sales pipeline and close high-value deals.
Develop and implement targeted sales strategies to drive banquet bookings, large-scale events, private dining, and off-site catering opportunities.
Conduct competitive market analysis to refine pricing, packages, and promotional offers that maximize revenue potential.
Partner with Hilton’s national and local sales teams to capture regional catering demand and expand reach.
Utilize CRM tools to track leads, optimize follow-ups, and convert inquiries into contracted events.
Negotiate and upsell premium food & beverage packages, specialty menus, and unique culinary experiences to enhance revenue per event.
Strategic Marketing & Client Acquisition:
Design innovative promotional campaigns to attract new catering clients, including seasonal specials, corporate incentives, and wedding packages.
Attend networking events, industry trade shows, and community gatherings to enhance visibility and establish partnerships.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, event planners, and corporate leaders to generate repeat and referral business.
Work closely with the digital marketing team to refine website content, social media promotions, and paid advertising for catering services.
Partner with culinary and banquet teams to host food tastings and exclusive catering showcases for prospective clients.
Client Relations & Event Execution:
Serve as the primary catering sales contact, ensuring seamless communication and high-touch customer service throughout the booking process.
Collaborate with clients to customize menus, beverage pairings, and themed event experiences tailored to their preferences.
Ensure flawless execution of catering events by coordinating banquet staff, culinary teams, and AV support.
Conduct post-event reviews with clients to gather feedback, address concerns, and secure future bookings.
Financial & Performance Management:
Set and achieve monthly catering sales targets, tracking progress against revenue goals.
Monitor budget performance and adjust strategies based on demand trends and profitability analysis.
Develop and execute upselling initiatives, such as VIP dining experiences, branded cocktail menus, and specialty wine selections.
Work with hotel leadership to identify new revenue streams, including potential partnerships with conference centers, wedding venues, and corporate headquarters.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business, or related field (preferred).
3-5 years of proven success in hotel catering sales, banquet management, or hospitality sales.
Expertise in event sales, menu planning, revenue optimization, and relationship management.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and prospecting skills.
Knowledge of Hilton CRM systems (Delphi, OnQ, PEP, or equivalent catering sales platforms).
Ability to multitask, manage event logistics, and execute flawless catering experiences.
