Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for highway, grading, and paving projects
- Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and concrete paving
- Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical data
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Develop competitive bid strategies and risk assessments
- Collaborate with operations teams during handoff
- Maintain historical cost data and unit pricing databases
- 3–12 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
- Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and highway construction methods
- Experience estimating dirt work, grading, and paving scopes
- Proficiency in HeavyBid, HCSS, AGTEK, or similar tools
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills
- Base Salary: $110K – $140K
