What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- $100,000 annual W2 salary paid weekly, with health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
- On-campus role at an Alpha K-8 school in Denver, CO; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (Central, South, or The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT (Salt Lake City region); or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)
The most powerful support you can offer a student who reaches 99% of their goal is to insist they finish. If that expectation makes you hesitate, this role is not for you. If it energizes you—because holding standards is how you demonstrate belief in a student's capability—read on.
At Alpha, academic learning happens through AI-driven applications. No traditional lessons. No printed materials. Half of your day is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering topics like public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. The other half is dedicated to individual and small-group sessions where you review student analytics via Coachbot, then guide each child toward completing 100% of their weekly app targets. You will not follow a rigid script—workshops provide a foundation, but top performers in this role customize them and create new content when needed.
A successful quarter means every student in your group completes their weekly app objectives, passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90% or more report a positive relationship with you. Falling short on any of these metrics means the role's core purpose has not been met. During your first year, you will internalize the operating model; once you demonstrate the ability to maintain standards, advancement to Lead Guide becomes possible, where you mentor new staff while continuing direct work with students.
If you prefer conventional classroom instruction, need fully prescribed lesson plans, or view warmth and rigor as incompatible, this position will not suit you. If your background includes athletic coaching, camp leadership, tutoring where you refused to accept a student's surrender, or performance work that captivated young audiences, the final interview stage is a full on-campus day coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 groups on subjects including public speaking, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills, customizing the framework and creating new sessions when you identify needs
- Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions that drive every student toward 100% completion of their weekly app objectives, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha's incentive structures (campus currency, performance boards), and your personal rapport with each child to overcome reluctance
- Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-validated assessment) for each life skill, then coaching students who fall short until they achieve mastery
- Adjusting your approach across a broad developmental spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring dynamic engagement and physical activity to 8th graders needing candid conversation and responsibility
- Serving as the adult who maintains expectations and the adult students choose to confide in; connection creates permission to challenge, and challenge communicates confidence in their potential
- Delivering whiteboard instruction; academic content resides in the applications, not your teaching
- Developing curriculum materials independently; you animate an established framework with presence and narrative skill
- Passively monitoring students during computer work; motivation in this context is direct, individualized, and persistent
- Reducing a weekly target to enable a student to meet it; when a child falls behind, the solution is supporting the child, not adjusting the standard
- Evaluating assignments, conducting standardized exam preparation, or handling family correspondence; Campus Leads manage parent engagement, and the other tasks do not exist in this model
Guarantee that every student in your K-8 group completes their weekly learning targets, achieves mastery in each life skill, and concludes the year reporting a positive relationship with you.

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
