What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Partnerships and Community Outreach, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site (multiple locations)
- W2
- $200K annually
You will be the person they reach out to when uncertainty arises, when something doesn't feel quite right, or when they want to share a milestone they know you'll appreciate. You'll understand each family deeply enough to sense what they need before the question is asked—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address whatever they bring you with tact, genuine warmth, and seamless professionalism. Over time, you won't simply be associated with their child's education. You'll be woven into the way they navigate this formative period of family life.
That level of trust isn't created by procedure. It emerges from presence—steady, frequent, and attentive. You'll be a familiar face during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, at evening gatherings that hold significance, and in unscheduled one-on-one exchanges that never appear on any agenda. You'll cultivate a community that families regard with loyalty, where inclusion feels organic and referrals arise naturally from the quality of the experience.
Alpha departs from conventional schooling. Students complete core academics in two hours daily using AI-driven applications, then dedicate remaining time to public speaking, critical thinking, and hands-on projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally. The families selecting this approach are investing in something they value—but confidence requires ongoing support.
You'll sustain that dialogue with every family, through every question, for the duration of their child's enrollment. If advocating for a non-traditional model to discerning skeptics feels like a weight, this position isn't the right match. If it represents the most compelling dialogue you could facilitate, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take full ownership of the relationship with each family on campus—the evolving, deepening connection that ensures parents feel recognized, not merely attended to
- Identify potential concerns before they surface as conversations, and address them with discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
- Maintain visible presence in key family touchpoints: morning arrival (7–9am), afternoon dismissal (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
- Create a campus community with authentic depth—events, rituals, and interactions that instill a sense of belonging to something families want to safeguard
- Develop parent champions naturally, delivering experiences so reliably excellent that referrals emerge as a logical result
- Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-driven approach with families managing screen time questions, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
- Recognize when a family may not align and manage that reality with the same professionalism you apply universally—preserving the community is integral to supporting it
- Develop the infrastructure and cadence this position demands in a setting where operational frameworks are still taking shape
- Overseeing enrollment—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your role commences when families enroll and deepens progressively
- Operating from behind a desk—your physical presence within the community defines the role
- Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening commitments are integral to the position, not occasional exceptions
- Depending on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and construct what's necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic engagement, not procedural adherence
Serve as the central trusted relationship in every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence during challenging moments, foster a community where belonging is valued, and establish the environment in which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently live within commuting range of one of these campuses OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference given to candidates with established local community ties): Scottsdale, AZ; Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; Park City, UT; Chantilly, VA; or Kirkland, WA
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
- 5 years in a relationship-focused role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or any context where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal sophistication were equally critical as competence
- Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging moments with discerning families and preserve trust throughout
- Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence rapidly with affluent, high-expectation families—polished but not rehearsed
- Personal exposure to independent, private, or alternative education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides credible perspective when families challenge the model
- Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of parent engagement, not solely at the point of enrollment
- Flexibility for non-traditional hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming 2–3 times monthly, and occasional weekend events
Outstanding candidates will demonstrate at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide an immediate, organic entry point on campus
- Private or independent school background with demonstrated success in family retention and community cultivation—beyond enrollment metrics alone
- History navigating complex family relationships where your discretion and judgment were the foundation of sustained trust
- Natural aptitude for designing experiences—events, moments, settings—that make people feel connected to something they want to protect
- Prior startup or early-stage company experience where you created from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change
