What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance Packaging Production Artist - CPG position at Creative Circle?
Our client is a busy creative team of a major food company seeking a Packaging Production Artist for a packaging redesign project.
This is a 40 hours/week, hybrid assignment aiming to start in August and go through February 2027 with possible extension based on workload.
The Packaging Production Artist will need to work onsite 2-3 days/week (Tues-Thurs) in Somerset County, NJ and will be provided with a company Mac laptop.
The Packaging Production Artist will work closely with 2 Packaging Managers to support the rollout of an established brand expression across many packaging SKUs. Responsibilities include:
- Building and adapting production files across multiple packaging formats and substrates
- Applying approved design systems consistently across SKU variations
- Managing mechanical details, versioning, and file organization
- Preparing accurate files for prepress and printer handoff
- Working closely with our internal designers, Regulatory and external production partners
The Packaging Production Artist must have:
- 5 years of strong CPG packaging experience, ideally within the food or another highly regulated industry
- Experience handling production execution efficiently and accurately
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, prepress preparation, and printer handoffs
- Ability to work within an established design system rather than developing a new creative direction
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
