Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Accounting / Accounts Payable / Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of their trucking and logistics business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities, and has significant hands-on experience in AP, bookkeeping, and general accounting, preferably within transportation or a similar operational environment.
Job Responsibilities: Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, verification, and timely payments Perform day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including accounts receivable support, reconciliations, and journal entries Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and vendor accounts Maintain accurate general ledger records Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Track expenses, fuel costs, vendor payments, and operational-related expenditures Prepare basic financial reports for leadership review Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting best practices Coordinate with external accountants, payroll providers, and tax professionals as needed
Qualifications: Significant experience in accounting, accounts payable, and bookkeeping roles Prior experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or a similar industry strongly preferred Strong understanding of AP processes, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Reliable, professional, and discreet with confidential financial information,
