OVERVIEW AND ROLE SCOPE OF TEAM AND/OR TASKS
Managing the campus visit experience at CMU is an exciting and impactful opportunity, as this role directly shapes the first impression prospective students and families have of the university. The Manager of Campus Visitation oversees the daily operations of the Admissions Welcome Center, coordinates individual and group tours, and ensures every guest receives a warm, seamless and informative visit. This position blends hospitality, leadership and strategic planning - allowing for creativity in improving the visit flow, enhancing service standards and supporting the development of Student Ambassadors and tour guides. From refining visit logistics and managing visit CRM processes (Slate, Outlook etc.) to partnering across campus and supporting major recruitment events, the manager plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment that reflects CMU’s spirit, professionalism and commitment to student-centered service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver an exceptional campus visit experience including tours, information sessions, and Welcome Center operations.
• Lead dynamic information sessions that welcome prospective students and families, sharing CMU’s story with clarity, enthusiasm, and connection.
• Manage visit systems and calendars (CRM, scheduling), data reporting, and assessment for continuous improvement.
• Aid in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and the supervising of Student Ambassadors and tour guides.
• Coordinate group visits, logistics and cross-campus partnerships.
• Support and execute large-scale recruitment events and high-volume visit days.
• Support recruitment initiatives by attending events, traveling when needed, and ensuring ambassadors bring energy and excitement to every campus visit or event
• Act as a pivotal member of the visit experience team, ensuring that every prospective student and guest receives a warm, engaging and informative introduction to CMU while also providing key support for campus visit events, including Mesa Experience, New Mav Days, and daily tours.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and fun team environment where students take pride in their roles, develop leadership skills and build lifelong connections.

Other duties may be assigned as needed by our business.

CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. *This role does include a public speaking component.
• Ability to establish rapport, foster positive relationships and build trust with students, supporters, counselors and colleagues.
• Experience with, or ability to learn, Colorado Mesa University admissions criteria, application procedures, financial aid options, and programs offered.
• Experience with, or ability to learn, Colorado Mesa University’s student services and academic support related to student success and retention efforts.
• Ability to handle and navigate a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities.
• Understanding and respect of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Ability to present complex information in an understandable manner to students, team members and leaders.
• Evenings and weekends as needed for visit days, events or high-volume periods will be required.
 
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE FOR RIGHT FIT
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Candidates who are nearing completion of their bachelor’s degree in 2025 may also be considered)
• Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, people-centered environment.
• Strong ability and enthusiasm in promoting and encouraging individuals to further their education and build resiliency to overcome obstacles.
• Proven ability to multi-task with critical deadlines with minimal or no direction
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license by date of employment
