ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary: Colorado Mesa University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track
position starting in August 2026. This is an Instructor Position that will work across the Bachelor's
and Master of Social Work Programs with a standard teaching load of 12 credit
hours per semester.
CMU is seeking candidates with a demonstrated interest
in social work education and professional development. Candidates must be
willing to teach a wide range of generalist and advanced practice courses.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to professional social work through
a focus on high-quality teaching.

- Teach 12 credits per semester in core and/or elective social work courses across the BSW and MSW programs, ensuring pedagogical consistency and academic excellence
- Teach in person, using Socratic and didactic methods.
- Prepare, design, and deliver lectures and course content aligned with the BSW and MSW programs' teaching requirements.
- Utilize innovative and inclusive teaching methods to engage learners with a broad array of backgrounds and experiences.
- Engage in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation-related initiatives to maintain rigorous educational standards.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
- Two years of post-MSW practice experience
- Experience teaching in higher education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of clinical experience and/or advanced practice in social work
- Current LCSW, LICSW and/or independent licensure within Social Work
- PhD or DSW in Social Work
- Professional and/or academic advising experience
