Position Title: Lighting Operator
Reports To: Technical Director
Work Schedule: Flexible work schedule based around TACAW’s performance calendar
Status: $35/hour
SUMMARY
The Arts Campus at Willits is looking for experienced Lighting Operators. As one of TACAW’s team of production experts, you will be responsible for assisting in talent load in and soundcheck, running lights during performances, and striking shows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Set up equipment at live events in many different settings, from music concerts to lectures.
2. Run lights during live events.
3. Digest artist's briefs and stage plots to select the appropriate lighting for the project and program cues as needed.
4. Communicate and coordinate with staff members to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed to specifications.
5. Test and troubleshoot equipment regularly.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum 1 year of experience in running lights.
2. A superb eye for lighting.
3. Ability to work under pressure and stay calm when things go wrong.
4. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
5. Professional self-starter with a growth mindset.
6. Able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform in a relatively loud work environment.
7. Candidates must be able to pass a background check.
