WORKING CONDITIONS AND ABILITIES

OVERVIEW AND ROLE SCOPE OF TEAM AND/OR TASKS

Colorado Mesa University’s (CMU) Information Technology Department is welcoming applications for a Applications Programmer. As part of a talented team of programming professionals, you will work collaboratively to provide support for CMU’s enterprise business applications in a hybrid environment of both cloud and on-premises solutions. This position will support Banner (SIS) and Workday (HCM and FIN) and data integration between them as well as out to other on-premises or cloud systems.  Support also includes end-user support and training.

• This is a predominately in-person, on campus position.
• The position reports to the Director of Information Systems.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of employment, without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. Employment is contingent upon maintaining valid • work authorization for the expected duration of the position.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

ROLES
• Work with end users and managed system/SAAS vendors to apply patching and upgrades.
• Develop test scripts and criteria and help end-users define testing scenarios to test new systems and upgrades
• Develop data interfaces between the ERP and other enterprise applications.Schedule jobs and monitor for successful completion of scheduled jobs.
• Work with end-users to develop viable department or work unit processes to avoid modification or customization of the software.
• Work with end-users to recommend changes to streamline processes and utilize existing software resources.
• Maintain the Operational Data Store and Enterprise Data Warehouse. Add reporting data from enterprise systems as reporting needs arise. Maintain the documentation for the reporting databases. Work with departments to develop more complex reports using reporting tools.
• Must possess ability to multi-task and prioritize projects with competing deadlines and resources.
• Assist in scheduling, determining manpower requirements, and estimating costs to project completion in order to meet user requirements.
• Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and providers. Respond to inquiries regarding errors, problems or program operations.
• Write clear system and user documentation and instructions following campus standards.
• Serve on college committees as needed.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE FOR RIGHT FIT
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Highly proficient in writing SQL queries, and in T-SQL script development writing stored procedures, views, user defined functions, etc. Proficient in Oracle Sql*Plus and PL/SQL
• Demonstrated experience with SQL Developer, VS Code, and Git or other collaborative version control tools.
• Demonstrated ability to build data integration pipelines
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience supporting ERP. (Workday and Banner) is preferred.
• Experience working with an Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS) tool, such as Boomi is preferred.
• Experience providing technical support for the Ellucian suite of products including Banner, Workflow, Degree Works, Banner Document Management, and ODS is preferred.
• Experience with reporting tools such as COGNOS is preferred.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of other toolsets including XML, SOAP, JSON, REST, .NET is preferred.
• Knowledge of ETL technologies is preferred.
• 2 years of experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON output, extracting data through API/web services is preferred.
• Experience with a major cloud infrastructure provider (Azure, Google, AWS) is preferred.
• Python, R, C/C , Java, JavaScript, and Ruby experience is preferred.
• Experience in a Higher Ed environment a plus is preferred.
