Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Spine & Pain team. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and passionate about providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will support our providers and clinical team in delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing spine and pain-related conditions. This position will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, vital signs, and other clinical information
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures
• Prepare treatment and procedure rooms
• Coordinate patient flow and help maintain efficient clinic operations
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, and obtaining necessary medical records
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments, instructions, and follow-up care
• Assist with injections and other office-based procedures as directed and within scope of practice
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appropriate supplies in clinical areas
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and office safety standards
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain patient confidentiality
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Previous medical office or clinical experience preferred
• Experience in orthopedics, pain management, neurology, or a similar specialty is a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
