Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner.
- Check patients in and out for appointments.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Collect copayments and other patient balances as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to the appropriate department.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the electronic medical record system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with general administrative duties to support daily office operations.
- Previous medical office or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment.
- Comfortable using computers and learning electronic medical record systems.
