Catholic Charities Worcester County is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This position serves as the primary HR contact for an assigned group of programs and provides full-scope HR support across the employee lifecycle.
This position reports to the HR Manager and partners closely with supervisors and staff to deliver responsive, high-quality support in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, records management, benefits and payroll coordination, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support recruitment efforts: posting jobs, conducting references
Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation; ensure all required documentation is complete
Maintain and update employee files and records
Process personnel changes including hires, transfers, leaves, and terminations
Answer employee questions about payroll, benefits, and policies; coordinate with external payroll/benefits vendors as needed
Track and monitor CORIs, trainings, credentials, performance evaluations, and other compliance items
Support supervisors with employee relations documentation and performance management; escalate complex matters to the HR Manager
Assist with agency-wide HR communications, reporting, audits, and special projects
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human resources preferred
Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
Experience with supporting payroll functions preferred
Knowledge of HR best practices and employment regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
Ability to travel occasionally to program sites; reliable transportation required
Salary : $25 - $30
