This is a key leadership opportunity that will involve enhancing the HR function at Solvus Global. As the Senior HR Generalist, you will be empowered to take charge of our people operations, freeing up our Operations Director and COO to focus on strategic business objectives. This is a "player-coach" role where you will shape high-level people strategy while executing the daily HR functions that ensure our team is supported. Working directly with our Cluster Council (Solvus's internal committee focused on people growth), you will have the autonomy to make critical decisions, lead foundational projects, and mentor our HR Specialist, making a tangible and lasting impact on the future of our company. This role will work collaboratively with our other operations team members to collectively drive the business forward.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Strategic HR
- Partner with the Cluster Council Lead and executive team to drive strategic HR initiatives.
- Serve as the go-to leader for all HR compliance matters and act as the primary point of contact for our PEO and outside legal counsel and leading compliance matters across multiple US states where Solvus has employees residing and facilities.
- Serve as the primary in-office HR presence, acting as a trusted advisor to leadership.
- Assist with the promotions and raises process, shifting the function from reactive to proactive.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Manage compliance related to all employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Act as the central point of contact for all private and sensitive HR requests.
- Oversee incident reporting and manage any Workers' Compensation and Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) claims.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Lead the full-cycle recruiting process for all open roles across the organization in conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Partner with hiring managers ensuring prioritized needs are being met in a timely manner
- Lead key in-person training components for new hires when required.
Required Attributes & Skills
- A clear, demonstrated history of progressive HR leadership (5 years).
- Deep knowledge of HR Generalist functions (employee relations, compliance, recruiting, benefits).
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior team members.
- Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth, or scaling environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A proactive, rapid problem-solving mindset with a high degree of autonomy.
Advantageous Attributes & Skills
- Experience implementing HRIS platforms or other HR technology.
- Direct experience transitioning from a PEO to an in-house HR model.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Background in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology startup environment.
- Experience with change management principles and practices.
