Duties
- Coordinate and manage the entire permit application process for multiple construction projects, including preparing documentation, submitting applications, and tracking approvals.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and local authorities to ensure timely permit issuance and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, and other industry-standard tools to organize permit documentation and monitor project schedules.
- Review construction plans and specifications to verify permit requirements are incorporated accurately and comprehensively.
- Maintain detailed records of permit applications, correspondence with regulatory agencies, and approval statuses for audit readiness.
- Assist in coordinating project schedules by integrating permit timelines with overall construction timelines using project scheduling tools.
- Support contract administration by ensuring permits align with contractual obligations and project milestones.
- Communicate proactively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve permit issues swiftly, minimizing delays.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to verify compliance during different phases of construction activities.
- Stay informed about evolving building codes, zoning laws, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements impacting construction permits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction permitting processes within commercial or residential projects.
- Strong proficiency with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 (Primavera), HeavyBid, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of construction estimating techniques and contract management practices.
- Familiarity with project scheduling methodologies and tools to coordinate permit timelines effectively.
- Hands-on experience working on or managing construction sites is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance records.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with regulatory agencies, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently through strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
