Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various properties.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and other mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in wiring or components.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, ensuring proper water flow and drainage for equipment operation.
- Repair or replace HVAC/R equipment parts such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and controls to restore system functionality efficiently.
- Utilize welding skills when necessary for equipment repair or fabrication projects.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and safety documentation following company protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including proper handling of refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to support overall building operations.
Skills
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a strong foundation in mechanical knowledge.
- Construction experience preferred for installation projects involving ductwork and system setup.
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately for troubleshooting and installation purposes.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Skilled in plumbing, appliance repair, boiler operation, and general equipment repair techniques.
- Familiarity with field service operations across commercial or residential properties.
- Experience with HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and ventilation solutions.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment for repairs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for travel between sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication abilities for customer interactions.
