Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a skilled & Patent & Trademark (IP) Admin. This role is responsible for managing docket and calendar activities, supporting electronic filings with the Patent and Trademark Office, and ensuring deadlines and procedural details are meticulously maintained.
Job Duties
- Manage docket and calendar to track key deadlines and reminders
- Support electronic filings with the Patent and Trademark Office using Patent Center
- Prepare and send confirmation reports and status updates to clients and internal teams
- Notify attorneys and stakeholders of upcoming deadlines and required actions
- Review application details, dates, and numbers for accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate communication with foreign associates regarding filings and deadlines
- Enter and update procedural information in internal docketing systems
- Assist attorneys in maintaining workflow momentum and procedural follow-through
Skills & Experience
Required:
- Prior experience supporting patent or IP administrative workflows
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadline-driven and detail-heavy processes
- Familiarity with Patent Office electronic filing procedures, preferably Patent Center
- Strong attention to numerical and application details
- Experience working independently in a structured, process-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle structured checklists and procedural workflows
Desired:
- Direct experience filing with the Patent and Trademark Office
- Knowledge of docketing systems or platforms such as Docherty (or similar)
- Background in legal or patent-specific administrative support
- Exposure to international communication with foreign patent associates
- Paralegal education/background preferred but not required
- Experience in highly deadline-sensitive legal workflows such as immigration or legal support roles
