Blayze Group is partnering with a well established commercial general contractor to appoint a Project Manager to support a strong pipeline of commercial projects across Northern Colorado.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a proven CM/GC background who can lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, while building strong client, subcontractor, and internal team relationships.
The company has a strong reputation across Colorado, with an established local presence, repeat clients, and a diverse project portfolio across commercial, healthcare, education, municipal, senior living, office, nonprofit, defense, aerospace, and light industrial markets.
The Role
β’ Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction, estimating support, subcontractor buyout, permitting, construction delivery, and closeout
β’ Manage projects including new builds, additions, restorations, remodels, and tenant improvements, typically ranging from $5M to $15M
β’ Coordinate closely with preconstruction, estimating, superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, owners, architects, consultants, and jurisdictional authorities
β’ Lead subcontractor selection and buyout by preparing clear scope exhibits and reviewing subcontractor proposals
β’ Drive early project planning including scheduling, manpower planning, equipment needs, site logistics, procurement, and mobilization strategy
β’ Review, monitor, and manage project budgets, construction costs, financial projections, pay applications, and profitability
β’ Work with the superintendent to establish and maintain CPM schedules, including updates, delay tracking, and project reporting
β’ Manage contract document changes, estimate cost impacts, and negotiate change orders with owners and architects
β’ Chair weekly OAC meetings to manage client expectations, communicate project status, review financials, and maintain document control
β’ Support business development activity through client engagement, RFP responses, interviews, and relationship building
β’ Mentor Project Engineers and Field Engineers, while promoting strong safety, quality, and operational standards
Background Sought
β’ Experience as a Project Manager within commercial general contracting
β’ 5 to 10 years of commercial CM/GC project management experience preferred
β’ Proven experience managing commercial construction projects up to $15M
β’ Experience across higher education, K 12, healthcare, general commercial, municipal, office, senior living, nonprofit, defense, aerospace, or light industrial projects is preferred
β’ Strong understanding of cost forecasting, owner change orders, subcontractor management, owner communication, scheduling, procurement, and project controls
β’ Experience leading projects from preconstruction through closeout
β’ Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, scopes of work, RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation
β’ Comfortable leading OAC meetings, managing client expectations, and driving accountability across project teams
β’ Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, ProjectSight, or similar construction management platforms
β’ B.S. degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered
β’ Practical, accountable, relationship driven, and commercially aware individual with a stable career history
Compensation & Benefits
β’ $130,000 to $140,000 base salary depending on experience
