Construction Accountant

A growing General Contractor is looking to add a Construction Accountant to its Dallas team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of construction accounting experience who is looking to develop their career within a stable and growing business.
Responsibilities
- Manage project accounting and job costing across active construction projects
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Maintain and review WIP schedules
- Support subcontractor billing, pay applications, and lien waivers
- Reconcile accounts and assist with cash flow tracking
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate project cost reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure accuracy of project financial data within the accounting system
Requirements
- 3–5 years of construction accounting experience
- Strong understanding of job costing and WIP reporting
- Experience working for a General Contractor, Developer, Homebuilder, or Construction-related business
- Knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience using Foundation software is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
