This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing organization seeking an accounting professional with strong full-cycle accounting experience and the ability to manage multiple entities in a fast-paced environment. Commercial real estate accounting experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities of the Real Estate Accountant:
- Perform full-cycle accounting including GL maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Manage multi-entity accounting processes while ensuring accuracy across all business units
- Prepare and review schedules related to amortization, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and rent collections
- Support financial reporting activities and assist with variance analysis
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation for audits and internal controls
- Collaborate with the Controller and accounting team to improve processes and efficiencies
- Utilize advanced Excel functions including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
- Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience at the Staff or Senior level
- Strong experience with GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Multi-entity accounting experience required
- Commercial real estate rental accounting experience highly preferred
- Proficiency in Excel including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
- Experience with iRely is a plus
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
