Blayze Group is partnering with a respected commercial general contractor to appoint an Estimator to support its growing preconstruction and estimating team.
The Role
- Prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects from initial bid through award
- Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, bid leveling, and subcontractor comparisons
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and opportunities during the bidding process
- Support and manage competitive hard bid submissions
- Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other construction documents
- Work closely with Preconstruction Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors, architects, and owners
- Develop greater ownership of bids as experience progresses
Background Sought
- Around 2 to 7 years of estimating or preconstruction experience preferred
- Commercial general contractor experience is essential
- Strong exposure to hard bid / competitive bid construction
- Experience with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, and scope analysis
- Exposure to commercial projects ideally valued at $20M
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and trade scopes
- Stable career history and a genuine interest in progressing within estimating and preconstruction
