$17.50/hrly to $19.50/hrly

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to guests at The Epicenter. This position involves delivering attentive and friendly service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Servers are responsible for upholding high standards of guest service and promoting a safe and positive atmosphere. Build regulars and ensure that your guests have the kind of experience that they come back for.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere upon their arrival.
  • Maintain the company standards for alcohol awareness and service. Uphold responsible alcohol service practices and ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring clarity and attention to specific preferences.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Be readily available to answer guest food and beverage questions
  • Ring in orders and process payments properly. Relay orders to the kitchen and bar in a timely manner, ensuring accurate preparation and presentation.
  • Prepare and process accurate bills and accept payments, including cash, credit cards, and electronic payments.
  • Constant monitoring of guests’ experience, i.e., check back after they get their food, maintain drink levels, pre-bus plates and glasses.
  • Participate in and drive company initiatives and promotions.
  • Have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and use such knowledge in day-to-day procedures.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including, but not limited to, stocking condiments, rolling silverware, stocking cups, plates, etc. Maintain stock of operating supplies.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, including tables, chairs, service stations, and condiments. Make sure that all bus tubs are clean and are consistently emptied. Bus and reset tables.
  • Keep all seating areas clean, including chairs, barstools, booths, booster seats and highchairs. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure efficient flow of orders and maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas before and after service.
  • Work hard to identify potential problems and communicate with supervisors and management to help prevent them from having an impact on guest experience.
  • If guests have questions or issues in another area, promptly contacts game techs, supervisors, or management to alleviate those issues.
  • Make sure that guests leave happy with their experience, enlisting the help of other team members, supervisors or managers as needed.
  • Maintain proper stock of supplies, communicating needs or shortages with management.
  • Cross train in other Epicenter roles to provide back up as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Please be advised that all prospective employees of The Epicenter are required to undergo background checks and receive clearances from both the FBI and the Department of Justice before they can work with children. Persons with convictions of serious misdemeanors and felonies will not be cleared and may not be hired.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must have High School diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of customer service experience in related industry preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must provide or obtain a Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment. 
  • Must provide or obtain the Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification and maintain during employment.
  • Must provide or obtain CPR & First Aide certification within three (3) months of hire.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

  • Basic personal computer skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Be a team player.  Look for opportunities to help another team member.
  • Work hard to maintain and promote a positive work environment.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
  • Have the ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with many distractions.
  • Must be able to have a safe and neat uniform consisting of black pants and nonslip shoes. Only a uniform top will be checked out to employees.
