POSITION SUMMARY: Supervises the operation of the casino services cashier and its staff on assigned shift. Promotes positive customer relations. Oversees Players Card activities of assigned shift ensuring the proper administration of comps to maximize revenues and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following,
- Maintains custody of the casino services inventory, including currency, coin, patron checks, gaming chips, forms, documents, and records normally associated with the operation of casino services.
- Receives, distributes, and redeems gaming chips in conformity with these standards.
- Supervises casino services cashier staff, including providing timely counseling of employees.
- Trains and develops subordinate personnel.
- Ensures the safety and welfare of all assigned staff and patrons.
- Proposes changes in operational procedure for the purpose of improving internal control, customer service, and efficiency.
- Assists in arranging special services for quality customers.
- Greets customers as a company representative and provides information concerning casino programs and amenities, off-site attractions, and card program.
- Responds to customer complaints and/or concerns.
- Monitors players club card activity to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to policies and programs
- Receives cash from soft count.
- Trains and develops subordinate personnel in the proper performance of their duties.
- Replenishes and reconciles kiosks and ATM’s.
- Other duties may be assigned.
AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision of the operation of the Casino Services Department in compliance with departmental policies and the system of internal controls. Provides on the job staff training and development.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- A minimum of one year high school or college bookkeeping, accounting or the equivalent training in a recognized business school is recommended.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Cash handling experience required, including check cashing experience,
- Ten-key experience preferred.
- Excellent record keeping skills required.
- Must have knowledge and verifiable experience as a Casino Services cashier for one (1) year including prior experience as a Casino Services lead or Casino Services supervisor.
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- None
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
- Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
- Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, knowledge of computer functions, preferably in supervisor capacity.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment. Employee smoking is only permitted in designated areas during working hours.
