POSITION SUMMARY: Cleans and resets tables, keeps floor area clean and presentable. Assists wait staff as needed. Uses the POS (Point of Sale) system to input specials and enter and complete to go orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following,
- Sets tables with napkins, condiments, and tableware prior to guests being seated.
- Clear tables of dishware and napkins after meals and return them to kitchen
- Prepares coffee, tea and water for customers
- Keep floors and chairs near dining tables clean by sweeping and mopping.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of glassware, silverware and dishware
- Clean, sanitize and reset tables after meals
- Refill salt, pepper and other condiments at tables.
- Assist servers with food delivery.
- Other duties may be assigned.
AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED, preferred.
- Restaurant experience, preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must provide or obtain a Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment.
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
- Basic personal computer skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
- Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Good grooming habits and manners.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
