Cost Accountant – Salem, OH

We’re looking for a hands-on Cost Accountant to support our manufacturing operation in Salem, Ohio. This role will be the key finance partner on site, working closely with plant leadership and the broader finance team.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and improve standard costing and product cost accuracy
- Review and maintain BOMs and cost structures
- Support inventory movement, reconciliation, and valuation
- Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory activity
- Work directly with operations to identify and correct costing or transaction issues
- Provide clear cost and spend visibility to plant and finance leadership
- Help strengthen and standardize plant-level financial processes and controls
What We’re Looking For
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with standard costing, BOMs, inventory, and ERP systems
- Strong Excel and data-analysis skills
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and work through detailed transactional data
- Comfortable partnering directly with plant operations and solving problems at the source
- Someone who enjoys improving processes rather than simply maintaining existing ones
Experience with CMS or other manufacturing ERP systems is helpful but not required.
