The Opportunity
We are seeking a Product Specialist / Product Manager to serve as a key connector between engineering, manufacturing, operations, marketing, sales, customer care, and other internal teams.
This role is focused on making sure accurate product information is complete, organized, accessible, and ready for use across the business and in the marketplace. You will help turn technical product information into specifications, documentation, training materials, digital content, and launch resources that internal teams and customers can rely on.
This is a highly collaborative position for someone who enjoys learning technical products, bringing structure to complex information, and driving work across multiple departments.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate product specifications, technical data, attributes, documentation, installation instructions, SKU and part-number information, product hierarchy, and catalog content.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to gather and understand technical product information.
- Translate technical information into clear, usable resources for marketing, sales, customer care, representatives, and customers.
- Support product launches and product-readiness activities by ensuring required product information and documentation are complete.
- Maintain and improve digital product content, including specifications, imagery, technical resources, and related website information.
- Help ensure internal teams can quickly access accurate technical information for customer questions, product support, and replacement-part needs.
- Coordinate work across multiple departments and follow through on missing, delayed, or incomplete product information.
- Support the development of training materials and other resources that help teams understand and represent products accurately.
- Help maintain consistent and reliable product information across PIM, ERP, catalog, and content-management systems.
- Build strong working relationships across engineering, manufacturing, operations, marketing, sales, customer care, and other stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
During the first 6–12 months, a successful person in this role will:
- Establish clear ownership and coordination of product information across active products.
- Improve the completeness and accuracy of specifications, technical documentation, installation information, product attributes, SKU/part information, and catalog data.
- Help move the active product portfolio toward complete digital readiness, including appropriate product images, drawings, technical information, features and benefits, packaging, and shipping information.
- Ensure product-launch materials and product-readiness information are available when downstream teams need them.
- Make product and technical information easier for internal teams to find and use.
- Turn product knowledge into repeatable documentation, structured data, and training resources rather than relying on information held by individual subject-matter experts.
Work Environment
This role works across many areas of the organization and requires frequent collaboration with teams that own different pieces of product information.
You will often be responsible for moving work forward even when the source information comes from another department. Success requires strong follow-through, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work through incomplete or changing information.
The role is a good fit for someone who is comfortable:
- Working across technical and commercial teams.
- Managing multiple product-information priorities at once.
- Learning complex manufactured products.
- Asking questions and working with subject-matter experts.
- Taking ownership of work through completion.
- Maintaining accuracy when information will be used by customers and internal teams.
- Translating technical details for different audiences.
What We’re Looking For
Required / Core Experience
- Experience in product information management, technical product management, product support, product data, technical sales support, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with product specifications, technical documentation, product attributes, catalogs, SKU/part information, master data, or product-information systems.
- Ability to understand and work with technical information such as specifications, drawings, installation information, and engineering-generated product data.
- Experience coordinating work across multiple functions and driving deliverables to completion.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate technical product information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Background
- Experience in manufacturing, building products, construction products, or another technical physical-product environment.
- Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems.
- Experience with Salsify or similar product-content platforms.
- ERP experience, including Epicor or comparable systems.
- Experience maintaining website or digital product content.
- Experience supporting product launches, training materials, technical documentation, or customer-facing product resources.
- Engineering education or prior engineering experience is beneficial.
- Several years of relevant product, manufacturing, product-information, or technical-support experience is preferred.
Why Join ABG
This role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on how product information is managed and used across the business.
You will work with teams spanning engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and customer support and develop a broad understanding of the product lifecycle. The position offers meaningful ownership, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to help create more consistent and scalable product-information practices across the organization.
For someone who enjoys combining technical products, data, documentation, and cross-functional problem-solving, this role provides the opportunity to become a trusted product resource and make a visible impact on both internal teams and customers.
