Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Santa Clara, CA. A Lab Administrator responsible for racking, cabling, configuring, and validating server hardware while ensuring smooth deployment of lab infrastructure.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Rack and cable servers and networking equipment while performing configuration, provisioning, and initial setup tasks.
• Troubleshoot and test server hardware components to ensure quality, stability, and readiness for deployment.
• Resolve hardware issues professionally through ticketing workflows, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
• Perform operating system installations across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments as part of lab readiness activities.
• Maintain cabling standards with proper port mapping and cable‑type understanding to support efficient lab operations.
• Support onsite activities requiring lifting, ladder work, and occasional travel as needed for hardware deployments.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 4–6 years of hands‑on experience supporting server hardware, operating systems, and lab infrastructure.
• Must have strong capability in racking, cabling, provisioning, and troubleshooting server hardware in lab or datacentre environments.
• Must have practical experience installing Windows, Linux, or Unix operating systems along with solid knowledge of cabling standards and port mapping.

Pay Details: $41.00 to $45.00 per hour
