In this position you will serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over employees assigned to the Inspection section within the wing/center Inspector General’s (IG) office. Serves as the principal advisor to the wing/center Inspector General on all phases of internal and external inspections, audits, evaluations, reviews, exercises, and analyses to determine unit effectiveness and efficiency

Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- IAW AF guidance, incumbent must attend the USAF Basic Inspectors Course for UEI or CCIP (as appropriate) within 90 days (180 days for ARC) of assignment to an IG position; and Wing IG inspectors of nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspectors Course within 180 days of assignment to an IG team. Successful completion of other courses will be accomplished IAW applicable DoD and AF regulations.
- 1. Knowledge of Public Laws, Executive Orders, DoD Regulations, Air Force Instructions, and other issues related to the inspection process, to include DoD and AF administrative and inspection policies, procedures, techniques, and practices, as well as public information release and denial determinations (Freedom Of Information Act, Official Use Request, Privacy Act, etc.).
- 2. Knowledge of Air Force, MAJCOM, and wing program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various wing entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
- 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; and knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to participate in the assessment and development of multifaceted plans and programs for conducting operations, and to adapt precedents or existing strategies to meet unusual needs, special demands, and determine feasible solutions to meet mission requirements.
- 4. Skill in analyzing, planning, and adjusting work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources; and in analyzing reports to identify relevant issues, identify potential trends, and draw sound conclusions in order to make appropriate recommendations.
- 5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of IGI; and to plan, organize, and negotiate effectively with senior specialists/management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
- 6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing; and work in a professional manner with wing leadership, as well as with local community, state, and/or Government agencies necessary to implement effective exercise and contingency response actions.
