Job Description:
The Tax Paralegal will play a key role in supporting attorneys on complex tax-related matters. This position involves working with financial data, assisting in case preparation, and contributing to both compliance and dispute-related work. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly step in to support an active workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret financial records to assist with case strategy and documentation
- Prepare financial summaries, reports, and supporting documentation for legal matters
- Assist with tax-related casework, including audits and dispute resolution support
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Coordinate with clients and third parties to gather necessary financial information
- Support financial analysis efforts, including tracing and forensic review projects
- Monitor deadlines and help ensure timely completion of filings and documentation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience within tax law, accounting, or a related field
- Exposure to financial analysis, tax documentation, or litigation support
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Accounting, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field preferred
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification or willingness to obtain within the first year is a plus
Additional Details:
- Pay Rate: $30/hour (conversion range $31.25 – $38.50/hour)
- Bill Rate: $55/hour
- Start Date: ASAP
- Interview Process: Phone screen followed by onsite interviews
