We are looking for a Manager, Product Design to join our team to create state-of-the-art commercial and consumer applications used by global customers every day. The products you design and launch will help keep businesses and consumers secure through cutting edge design patterns and user interfaces. You will fuel and bring to market software solutions that delight and empower customers with making informed decisions on a global impact. You will use your creative superpowers to come up with and re-use UX and visual paradigms to help our users make data-driven decisions quicker.
As a Manager, Product Design , you will partner with product management, engineering and business leaders to lead a team of designers and build delightful experiences for our customers. You will establish and promote a design culture throughout the organization and help Zscaler be more design-driven. You will articulate the design vision and strategy while overseeing the user experience and instilling design thinking into the product development lifecycle. This role requires you to simultaneously balance and drive design and technical goals and shape the visual design language for the user experience across the application suite while ensuring execution excellence within your team. In this role, you will:

• Lead by example, a team of global product designers and researchers to deliver end-to-end application design across multiple products and create amazing experiences that delight customers.
• Acquire deep understanding of our users by diving deep, employing different techniques (e.g. customer interviews, surveys, usability tests) to provide relevant guidance and inputs to your team.
• Help develop scalable cutting edge and flexible global design guidelines to maintain clean and consistent user interfaces across products as we grow.
• Support your team to make the right design decisions based on customer feedback and data.
• Develop existing talent and hire only the best through rigorous screening and hiring processes.
• Defend your team's decisions and ensure alignment between all the disciplines involved in launching successful products (product management, design, engineering, content, marketing, etc.)
• Occasionally step in and help your team when needed to deliver the best possible product experience by creating user flows, wireframes and Figma designs or Design System components. Although this is a manager role, we are a relatively small team with a strong startup mindset and everyone "gets into the weeds".
• Apply your deep understanding of UX best practices to drive innovation within your immediate team and the larger design organization.
• Partner and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Content and Marketing to deliver a cohesive experience across all channels.
• Occasional travel to key company events or for customer meetings is required.

Qualifications:

• Role is for San Jose, CA, hybrid. This role is not remote.
• Must have 5 years of IC UX and/or Product Design experience in enterprise.
• Must have 2 years of experience managing a design team of 5 or more ICs.
• Demonstrable track record of shipping world-class product designs in Figma, Sketch or comparable tools with relentless focus on delivering simple and intuitive solutions to complex problems (UX Design portfolio required, please provide a link).
• Demonstrable success in crafting, innovating and scaling strong UX designs that get the customers job done and delight users.
• Demonstrable success in building a team and hiring for Product/UX designers.
• Strong visual design skills and creating pixel-perfect, high fidelity designs.
• Experience working with and contributing to Design Systems.
• Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate clearly and distinctly, both verbally and in writing with peers, stakeholders, executives.
• Deep understanding of technical limitations and front-end development techniques (HTML, CSS, JS frameworks).
• Experience with analytical interfaces is highly desirable.
• IT/Cloud Security Field familiarity/background is a big plus.

Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) benefits.
Base Pay Range
$129,500-$185,000 USD
