Summary 

We are looking for someone not only to be a solution/product evangelist to our customers but also to be the voice of the customer to our internal team members. You will start with the initial customer engagement, understand their requirements, and carry the solution through development and deployment. You know how to drive the product and business planning process for our cross-functional teams. You analyze the customer needs, market trends, and any potential partnerships from an ROI and build vs. buy perspective. You have the skills to assess current competitors’ offerings and look for opportunities to differentiate. You are a stickler for timelines and work with the teams to ensure we are maintaining them. You look at new product ideas and are able to strategize the appropriate go-to-market plans.

Requirements

  • Support Business Unit leaders from a Product standpoint
  • Work with customers to identify problems and key solution value drivers.
  • Work with engineering to conceive solutions that solve key problems and create real value.
  • Identify opportunities where our existing technology can be re-used with simple changes.
  • Work with the sales team to support them in closing the deal, executing pilots, and keeping the focus on must-have versus nice-to-have features.
  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements, roadmap development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates us across primary market segments

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years experience in a dynamic product management role
  •  Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  •  Ability to organize ambiguous information, providing clarity to other team members.
  •  Ability to digest large amounts of information and learn quickly.
  • Creative and resourceful.
  • High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in product design or engineering – MBA preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dynamic, fast-growing startup
  • Previous experience in IoT and manufacturing
  • Previous experience in working with UI/UX teams
  • Proven success as a product developer in a nonmanagerial role
  • Consulting firm experience 
  • Previous experience in hardware development; taken a product from inception to launch

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $256,000, plus bonuses and Pre-IPO equity. It is uncommon for anyone to be hired at or near the top range for their role, and final compensation is based on the facts and circumstances of the case. The compensation range is broad because it reflects many factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, and training directly relevant to the role, business and company needs, cultural fit, level, and location.
