Candidate is applying for a DevOps Tools Engineer that will help streamline a software development life cycle from requirements to monitoring in production. The engineer will incorporate DevOps tools, automation, and private cloud resources to cut down on tedious, monotonous tasks, which will optimize the team’s productivity and time to innovate and get creative. Additionally, candidate will work with the team to implement continuous integration and delivery to limit manual testing and troubleshooting. This is an opportunity to develop experience in automation and deployment processes while developing software that will spur innovation. Responsibilities and Duties
The DevOps Tools Engineer will be responsible for the following processes and duties • Manage deployment operations including database changes across all environments in an on-premise infrastructure using and enhancing tools such as Urban Code Deploy; • Installs, configures, upgrades and monitors software and tools including GitLab, Urban Code, Nexus, Jenkins, Chef, Maven, Ant, Puppet. • Configures automated builds and deployments • Works with the development teams to establish a development process using branching and versioning to maximize development throughput within a CICD pipeline. • Manages the deployment of code and database changes to multiple on-premise development and production environments. • Works with opensource CI and CD tools such as GitLab to automate the development and deployment processes. • Assisting with test automation using tools like Selenium, Rational Functional Tester, WebDriver, Junit and JSUnit. • Documents processes, tools, software and scripts. • Maintains and patches operating systems and tool platforms. Qualifications • 5 years of experience with Linux Administration and bash or shell scripting • 4 years of experience with configuration management and designing and developing DevOps solution architecture • 4 years of experience in working closely with Release Management teams and Automation Testing teams • Experience in designing branching strategies with Git and creating jobs and pipelines in Jenkins • Experience with working in an Agile environment with multiple teams operating in parallel to accomplish large initiative deployments • Knowledge of industry DevOps tools, including Ant, Maven, Ansible, Jenkins, UrbanCode, Openshift, GitLab, Chef, Nexus, Docker, or Puppet • Scripting language experience including Bash and possibly Python or Groovy • Experience with Git including branches and workflows such as Git Flow • Experience with leading and evolving CI/CD processes and leveraging the DevOps frameworks working in an Agile environment. • Experience with dependency management, versioning, building and packaging Education/Certification Requirement • Bachelor’s of Science, preferable Computer Science or related; equivalent experience.
