Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, helping individuals improve their vision and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyeglasses frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes, including pupillary distance, segment height, and optical centers
- Adjust eyeglasses frames to ensure proper fit and comfort
- Knowledge of electronic health records system
- Understanding of medical coding for insurance billing
- Educate customers on proper eyeglass and contact lens care and maintenance
- Process orders for eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products
- Perform repairs and adjustments on eyeglasses frames as needed
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of retail math and sales techniques
- Familiarity with vital signs and basic anatomy knowledge related to the eyes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy
- Proficiency in medical records management, medical coding, medical billing, and insurance claims processing is a plus

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and prescription fulfillment
- Effective communication skills to explain complex information to customers in a clear manner
