Host/Host
Duties:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Assist in seating guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
- Manage waitlist and estimate wait times for guests
- Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information about the restaurant
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and waiting area
- Collaborate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
Skills:
- Food service experience is preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and welcoming demeanor
- Strong guest relations skills to create a positive dining experience for guests
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and ability to assist guests with menu choices
- Proficient phone etiquette to handle incoming calls and take reservations accurately
- Knowledge of POS systems for order entry and payment processing
- Hospitality mindset with a willingness to help and accommodate guest needs
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests, coworkers, and management
