POSITION: Dining Room Host

REPORTS TO: Clubhouse Manager, Director of Dining Services, Dining Room Captain

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school or equivalent
• One year fine dining restaurant operations experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Must possess good recall and memory
• Must be able to speak, read and write English

JOB TASKS/DUTIES:

• Greets every member/guest in a prompt, friendly, courteous and cheerful manner
• Offers a cordial farewell and thanks members/guests for dining upon departure
• Communicates constantly and appropriately with Concierge, Servers, Bussers, and Management to ensure efficient operations
• Seats members/guests in a timely and efficient manner
• Always addresses members formally and by name
• Keeps work area clean and neat
• Ensures floor is free of spills and debris at all times
• Collects and inspects all menus, discarding all worn ones
• Updates and replaces menu inserts into menu covers
• Answers phone properly and promptly, identifying self
• Maintains familiarity with menu items and daily specials
• Ensures that tables are properly set
• Assists with initial member/guest complaints and informs manager on duty, immediately
• Assures smooth transition at shift change remaining on duty until relief is present
• Retrieves menus from all areas of restaurant as needed
• Circulates stations making sure members/guests are getting proper service and alerts servers to any needs or requests
• Performs other duties as required or assigned by management

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, and speaking
• Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant.
• Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft
• Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing
• Occasionally carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
• Work performed in climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
