Young Men's Christian Association of the... is Hiring a Director of Pickleball Near Easton, MD

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Pickleball works within the day to day operations of YMCA facilities and will be required to work when programs, tournaments and events are taking place, which will include some evenings and weekends. The YMCA of the Chesapeake’s service area stretches over 5,000 square miles. The ability to drive to different Y communities to work with local staff and community members is an essential component of this job. The position involves physical activity, including demonstrating and teaching Pickleball techniques and strategies, and may require lifting and moving equipment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement training programs for Pickleball instructors, including technique, strategy, and game management instruction.
  • Organize and conduct Pickleball clinics and lessons for all levels of players, from beginner to advanced.
  • Oversee the scheduling of Pickleball courts and ensure that all activities are conducted safely and organized.
  • Develop relationships with Pickleball equipment manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the facility is equipped with the latest gear.
  • Promote the sport of Pickleball within the local community through marketing and outreach efforts.
  • Work closely with the facility's management team to ensure that Pickleball programs are aligned with the overall goals of the facility.
  • Recruit and train new Pickleball instructors and ensure they are up-to-date with the latest techniques and equipment. Maintain accurate records of Pickleball activities, including attendance, revenue, and expenses. Provide excellent customer service to all Pickleball program participants and members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Pickleball instructor or equivalent certification in a related sport.
  • Strong knowledge of Pickleball rules, techniques, and strategy.
  • Extraverted personality that enjoys building authentic relationships.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of instructors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Physical ability to demonstrate and teach Pickleball techniques and strategies.
