YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF BOISE IDAHO INC is Hiring a Certified Personal Trainer - Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA Near Meridian, ID

The South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA is unlike any other in the country. Our 60,000-square-foot facility is part of a unique collaboration that combines family recreation, education, sports, literacy, and wellness care on a single campus called “The Hill.” Hand in hand with our partners—St. Luke’s Health System, the West Ada School District, and the City of Meridian—the South Meridian Family Y will help us build A BETTER US.

YMCA Certified Personal Trainers are responsible for managing and developing health and well-being programs for individual clients or small groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop intentional relationships and, using the Y voice attributes, engage members to deepen their relationship to the Y Cause.
  • Actively use Listen First skills to determine realistic and appropriate goals that improve the health and wellbeing of participants.
  • Use member engagement skills to achieve individual enrollment goals and respond to requests within 24 hours.
  • Conduct personal training sessions in an inclusive, fun, innovative, and safe manner with the scope of practice that results in participants achieving the two Cause Measurement goals.
  • Record all required information to ensure accurate billing and tracking.
  • Conducts and organizes personal training sessions for individuals or groups.
  • Builds specific programs for individuals or groups based on the intake interview and ongoing evaluation.
  • Actively listens to members, makes suggestions, and follows up to help support members’ in reaching their fitness goals.

Qualifications:

  • Personal Trainer certification through NASM, NSCA, ACE, NFPT, NETA, ACSM or ISSA is required.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to influence others in a positive manner, willingness to participate in monthly promotional activities and create a safe, inclusive environment. 
  • Must be able to deliver organized training plans for each individual or group consisting of both teens and adults. Must have current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire.
  • Must have the ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight. Position will require bending, leaning, kneeling, walking.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.

Schedule:

Varied based on client demand & availability. Approximately 5-10 hours per week.
