YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF BOISE IDAHO INC is Hiring a CrossFit Instructor Near Boise, ID

Serving over 20,000 active youth, adult, and family members, the West Branch of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA helps members lead a healthier, happier life. Facility amenities and features include six fitness studios, three racquetball courts, full-court basketball gym, youth activity center, climbing wall, 50-meter swimming pool, and training pool.

CrossFit Instructor is responsible for creating a safe, friendly, and helpful community environment for members participating in CrossFit classes, focused on developing competence in Cardiovascular, and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop intentional relationships and, using the Y voice attributes, create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants that helps them meet the two Cause Measurement goals for adults.
  • Use the class platform to educate and inform participants about the Y Cause and other Y program offerings.
  • Conduct class in a quality, fun, and safe manner that results in increased attendance. Follow fitness trends and utilize prescribed formats when applicable.
  • 4Actively identify participants who need additional support, such as new members, health seekers, and participants with diverse abilities.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Provide excellent delivery of land group exercise instruction to all members.
  • Engage members to deepen their relationships in the Y cause.
  • Monitor and ensure safety of participants, staff and volunteers in the land group exercise class.
  • Monitor class attendance for data tracking.
  • Actively work to increase group exercise participation.
  • Mentor class volunteers as assigned.
  • Handle and resolve class concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in group exercise instruction preferred
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Meet all training requirement for your positon in the specified timeframe.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position averaging 10 hours per a week. Schedule requirements are weekdays, typically evenings.
