We are looking to hire urgently Accounting Assistant for a modern and unique wellness center with guest rooms and support spaces located in Sullivan County, New York .

Accounting Assistant  will play an important role in the day to day accounting function. Primarily assisting with daily accounting functions, month end and financial reporting processes. 

Scope and Responsibilities

• Assist with month closing procedures 
• Responsible for bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable and banking data
• Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
• Communicate with all internal departments and external vendors regarding payments, receipts, and invoices
• Investigate and research any discrepancies between vendor statements and general ledger

Skills and Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics required
• 2-3 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping role
• Professional proficiency with HMS & M 3 Online a plus
• Understand expense accounts, cost centers, prepaids, and accruals
• Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
• Need to be well organized
