Description

Do you have experience advocating for children and supporting programs to ensure all children are successful? Do you have a passion for ensuring children, regardless of their ability, have access to education, safety, instruction, and fun? This may be an opportunity for you!

The Inclusion Specialist helps to ensure each child at our Early Learning Center and Summer Camp is allowed to reach his/her full potential. On a regular day, you will conduct and document observations, provide feedback to staff, and monitor the behavior, and support needs of program participants. The Inclusion Specialist reviews behavioral incident reports and monitors for patterns, supports the implementation of social and emotional curriculum, works with individual students while providing guidance, models expectations, and teaches social/emotional skills. Additionally, you will support an inclusive and positive environment by incorporating appropriate modifications and accommodations, support screenings and assessments, evaluate and communicate results, and reassess as needed. As part of an active team of childcare specialists, you'll facilitate educational opportunities, not limited to but including workshops, staff development, and family engagement.

To thrive in this role you have experience working with vulnerable populations and a flexible teaching style. You can communicate effectively with children, families, and a childcare team, implementing and coaching best practices as well as reading and modeling the application of social and emotional curriculum or methods. You can identify and understand the cause and motivation of events and actions about child behavior and have sound judgment in response to the unexpected. You have experience working with state agencies and are knowledgeable of community resources for families and children.

In addition to a quality work environment, our YMCA offers competitive salaries, benefits, and professional development opportunities including;

  • Paid training and development

  • Advancement and growth opportunities within our seven YMCA locations.

  • Free YMCA membership and employee discounts on programs.

  • Health and dental insurance for full-time employees.

  • Retirement fund with 8% company contribution (once vested/no match required).

  • Employer-funded life insurance.

  • Mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications
