Position: Wellness Director Salary: $70,000-$75,000 The YMCA of Metropolitan Washinton is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Y serves almost 250,000 people annually via programs, outreach, and events throughout the DC Metropolitan region.Through our 16 Y locations, the Y's work is felt throughout the community daily. Our mission: To foster the spiritual, mental and physical development of individuals, families and communities according to the ideals of inclusiveness, equality and mutual respect for all.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated leader who is impact focused to join our team as Wellness Director. The Wellness Director will play a key role in developing and implementing programs and services that promote health and wellness within our community. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Experience in and a demonstrated track record of the areas of staff supervision, wellness and group exercise program development, and community engagement are required.Key Responsibilities:Program Development: Design and oversee a comprehensive wellness program that addresses the diverse needs and interests of our community. Create a dynamic schedule that increases engagement and health outcomes.Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of wellness professionals, including group exercise instructors, personal trainers, and wellness coaches. Provide leadership and support to ensure they provide highest level of service to membersMember Engagement: Foster a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where members feel supported and motivated to achieve their health and fitness goals. Collaborate with other Directors to support branch events, member service initiatives and membership/program growth.Community Outreach: Collaborate with local organizations and agencies to promote wellness initiatives and expand our reach within the community.Innovation: Stay current on trends and research in the wellness field to continuously evolve and improve our program offerings. Participates in Association Service Team to share best practices and elevate the Y’s position as a leader of health and wellness.Fiscal Management: Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.
