The YMCA of Greensburg is seeking enthusiastic individuals to lead safe and effective group yoga classes to a diverse population. Safety is the #1 priority. The Yoga Instructor is responsible for providing a balanced yoga practice for participants of all levels and abilities, providing progressions and regressions when necessary, and educating patrons on appropriate breathing principles and safe transitioning techniques.

Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent member service, greet and acknowledge all members to encourage wellness participation.
• Develop, implement, and instruct yoga sessions for members at an appropriate level and in the appropriate modality based on member wants, needs, and ability.
• Help maintain a neat, clean and pleasant environment in exercise studios.
• Integrate the mission of the YMCA and follow the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility into the healthy living aspect of job responsibilities.
• Understand the prevention, detection, and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, basic emergency procedures, and the legal and professional responsibilities of wellness coaches.
• Attend continuing education and mandatory trainings.
• Other duties as needed within the position’s scope.

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, or a related field from an accredited college a plus.
• Must hold & maintain a Group Exercise/Fitness Instructor certification through a nationally recognized organization (AFAA, ACE, ACSM, etc.) and/or a Yoga specific 200 hr training.
• Personal leadership and commitment to Health and Wellness is important.
• Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic life saving skills such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen. This position must have the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license a plus.
