YMCA of Greater Houston is Hiring a General Office Clerk- RMA Near Houston, TX

Title: General Office Clerk- RMA

Reports To: Program DirectorPay: $20.13 per hour, Full Time, non-ExemptOffice Hours: Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (early/late hours or weekends as needed)Description:

YMCA International Services is a unique branch of the YMCA of Greater Houston and seeks to meet the needs of Houston’s significant refugee and immigrant communities. We provide comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. As a Clerk on our team, you will play an integral role in helping refugees, asylees, Cuban border crossers, Special Immigrant Visa Holder’s and victims of human trafficking gain access to a wide range of social support services with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.

Essential Functions:

  • Be familiar with program rules and regulations
  • Provide translation and interpretation as needed to facilitate clients access to services
  • Assist with weekly Cuban orientations by making copies, scheduling client appointments, distributing handouts, making sign-in sheets, etc.
  • Apply for Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) for clients in an electronic database within 48hrs of the referral.
  • Print RMA insurance cards for clients and/or case managers.
  • Assist to refer clients to vaccine clinic appointments and follow-up with clients.
  • Monitor and review files to be in compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Work with RCA department to maintain close communication in regards to forms and client status updates and documents
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by Program Director.
  • Apply and address all RMA appeals and terminations within 48 hours of eligibility determination status.
  • Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
  • Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but are not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Outcomes

  • All eligible clients served in a professional and within 48hrs from referral date.
  • Ability to complete 70 new applications per week accurately.
  • All PCU cards provided to clients within 48hrs after it becomes available in the PCU portal.
  • Client files and data entry are current and 100% accurate. 

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
  • Highly developed computer skills;
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources;
  • Team player, self-motivated, responsive and excellent trouble-shooter;
  • High School Diploma, some college and/or relevant professional experience
  • Previous clerical/office experience helpful;
  • Fluency in (spoken, written, and reading) Spanish or Arabic required
