Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director/Coordinator and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Sailing Instructor is responsible for teaching lessons according to YMCA of the USA program standards. The best staff are those who can enjoy both the relaxation of a sailboat on a warm summer day while also focusing on the fun technical aspects of sailing with races, time trials, and other ways for individuals to test their improving skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum two years’ experience in small boat handling, knots, points of sail, and boating safety
• At least 18 years of age with a strong interest in teaching children
• Preference given to applicants with small boat experience and prior teaching
• Enthusiasm for the sport stands out
• Current status in the following certifications OR ability to obtain upon hire:
  • Professional Level CPR
  • First Aid
  • Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Oxygen Administration
• Must complete the following trainings before working first shift and are to be renewed annually: Blood Borne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention.
